“MY HANSE EXPLORER is one of the very few yachts today that really deserve the name “exploration yacht”. HANSE EXPLORER is a purpose built steel motor yacht with highest commercial ice class (Finnish ice class A1, GL ice class E3). The ship was built 2006 on the German Fassmer Shipyard, specialized in the construction of high-tech offshore rescue vessels. The ship is less “shiny”than other yachts – but it is very tough – tougher than any motor yacht of its size on the market.
MY HANSE EXPLORER has in only five years on the market done remarkable cruises: four seasons in the high Arctic, four seasons in the Antarctic, a North West Passage, trips to East Greenland laying within a tough belt of multi-year-ice and several dive charters to the most remote islands in the Pacific. The ship has been several times south of the polar circle and up to 82 degrees north latitude and it has been visible multiple times in TV shows.
HANSE EXPLORER is equipped with state of the art navigational and technical equipment. It has a range of 8000 nautical miles at economic speed, 20 tons of freshwater can be produced on board per day making the ship absolutely self sufficient and the engine is powerful enough to navigate through dense multi year old ice. HANSE EXPLORER is a highly seaworthy ship that has already weathered 50 knot storms in the Southern Ocean and that can take undoubtedly much more.
